Mark 1
1.What made the disciples drop all they had and follow Jesus? They didn't even say good-bye to thier family. (I have no answers to this one.)(Mark 1:14-20 for reference)
2. Why did Jesus say be quiet(sternly I might add) to the evil spirits and demons he drove out? Didn't he want people to know who he was?(Again I have no answer to this.) (Mark 1:22-26; Mark 1:32-34)
3.What made people come to Jesus from everywhere, despite the fact that he was in lonly places?(Word spreads I guess.)(Mark 1:45)
And here is a fun question that probably doesn't mean much... Why did John the Baptist preach in the desert? Wouldn't his misson been more successful if he were to preach in big city's?(The only guess that I could come up with is that this shows us that God will send us where ever he wants us to go, and that we need to rely on him, even though we may be in the desert)(Mark 1:4)
Mark 2.
1. Jesus says the Sabbath was made for man(Mark 2:27-28)... but I thought it was made to set aside for God?
1 comment:
1. Good question. What does it say about Jesus? I would not assume they did not interact with their family from then on.
2. Doesn't v. 45 answer the question
3. Kind of relates to #1
He like to eat locusts, there are more of them in the desert. Plus he would look funny wearing a camel haired sack in the city.
Some of this may be better understood if you knew a little bit more about the culture at the time of Jesus. If you are interested, you could google it and probably find something.
All this relates to knowledge about Jesus, God, man, spirituality, etc. Knowledge is good. You have to have it, especially at your age. But in order to live like Jesus wants us to, we need to tend to other areas. I will post about that.
