Church Today
Ok, here is something to blog about. Church today, it was interesting, and a good change. There form of worshiping is deffinatly unique. And their giving blew my mind, two offering in one service, and i think that almost everyone in that room gave something each time. And to think they do that every sunday. If our church was that generous with their money I think we could do so much more. And the sermon was good to. The part where he talked about sinning in our mind really got me. Cuase I realize I do that alot. Thats probably where 90% of my sinning is. If not more. And their singing was great. It was a lot more interactive than Grace's. At first I was sorta like Emily, saying, oh they can't really be this hyped about God. But as the service progressed, I realized that God is all that kept them going pretty much. It was amazaing to see that. I am deffinatly glad I went, no matter how long the service was and even though I was really tired. And I would like to go when you go down there to talk to him. If only it was just to listen.

It was good to think of them as brothers and sisters in Christ. We worshipped together. It is a shame that we are so separated in our society, both economically and racially.
They certainly were more demonstrative. As one black woman I work with told me about Grace: "You all just sit there, quietly."
Why is that? Are we letting our inhibitions and self-consciousness overrule the expression of what we feel about God?
I had an idea a couple of years ago when we were having 5:35 about something like a youth worship "dog pound" (ever see the old Arcinio Hall show). It would be a group of the willing that would unabashedly worship. We would learn to drop our inhibitions and reservations and worship with abandon.
I don't know if you ever saw Matrix 3 (it was rated R so maybe you did not see it). I really like the scene when the people were dancing. It was kind of sensual, but that is not the part I liked. I liked how they seemed to get lost in the moment. That would be so cool. If we can't do it with God, who can we do it with?
