I am deffinatly glad I went. It was a good way to indirectly get accquinted with some of the people we will be helping. I think it will also help to have the right heart when we start to get to know the family and make the beds for them. I am very glad I went.

I am also glad you went. I am glad you are stepping up. We need you and the others to start owning this project. Jump in with your leaders and ask what you can do. It is looking like God wants to show some needy families that He loves them and tell them of His good news of the kingdom of heaven. And He wants us to do this for Him.
What do you think? Do you have the confidence that you (we) can pull this thing off?
The adults are impressed with what you are doing, as is shown in them donating about $2100! This was about four times what we expected. This is called an "open door" or a "green light". We should just keep going forward trusting that we, the youth, can be used by Him in this way.
See anything spiritual here, Aaron?
What is God doing through the youth? He is present and we are moving about in Him. What is he up to? How is God using this project to teach you about yourself and your heart?
It is amazing!
What you did in reflecting on this is called prayer of examen.
God already knows which families He wants to bless. I'll bet he wants us to do some searching for our own benefit. Maybe He wants us to trust Him as we obey by actively searching. Maybe he wants to change us in the process.
I think next stop should be Arkansas Supportive Housing Network. The Dorcas House woman mentioned them. I know Sandra Wilson who is the director out there (we both slept out under the bridge twice). They are in the front lines of the battle against homelessness. We could learn something from her.
