Mark 1

I read this again, and I cuaght a couple things that i didnt really notice before. One being when John said, "but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit." Why that interested me is becuase, well i have been baptized with water, your whole body goes under the water, im sure you know this, and what it represents. But this just got me thinking, there have only been a few times when i have actually been emersed in the Holy Spirit. That just got me thinking for some reason.

The other one is in this chapter Jesus heals a lot of people. But why did he heal them one by one? it would have saved him a lot of time if he would just have healed the whole world. Not only do i think he has that power, but it would have saved him time so he could be doing other things. So, why did Jesus heal people one by one?

he could have healed everyone, but tell me, does this idea fit the rest of scripture?
do you see God being a good dictator?
or a God who wants all to come to know him?
Jesus wants people to search him out, so then once they find him... he can heal them.
i like your thinking though, it seems sometimes like it would be nice if God would just heal everyone and everything would be great.

Great thoughts Loren. Nice of you to jump in and help your little brother out!

I would have to say that you are getting ahead of the plan, Aaron. You know the plan don't you? Can you articulate the plan? It was one that God had intended since before time. It is playing out in his timing. Indeed He will heal everything, but not until the time is right. Jesus came at the right time (Gal 4:4). The healing of creation will also come at the right time. Be patient.

You know that Adam was not patient. He was created naked, ignorant, and alone. Apparently, he didn't like the alone and ignorant part (the naked part did not bother him until later). He got impatient. He wanted to know good and evil and he wanted to know it in his time. Do you think God would have given him this knowledge in time? Why would God make him wait? There must be a good reason.

It's all part of the plan. A grand plan. Larger in scale than Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, or the Matrix. Don't those stories make you want to be part of something larger? I know I long to be part of something that grand and meaningful, that is why I read books and go to movies like that. I love being caught up in it, even for just a few hours. Sometimes our lives seem boring and insignificant compared to stories like that.

Along comes Jesus, at just the right time, and says what?

The realm of God's rule is now accessible to you. You don't have to wait. You can enter that realm now and be a part of the grandest plan, one in which, in time, all of creation will be set right. He demonstrates that this is true by healing, exorcisms, and altering nature. He invites you to come under his rule and be his ambassador on earth. You can be a part of fulfilling his plan! Not when you die, but right now at 14 years old.

Got the "vision"? That is where it starts.

More on Mark 1 later.

In the grand scheme of things it may really be a short time. Scientsists tell us that if you think of the age of the universe as a 24 hour clock, man came on the scene at 11:59 PM in that tick just before midnight. That's not that much time!
