Building and Compassion 6

We made progress on the Second Chance beds today. See all the blotches in the picture? That is all the sawdust in the air. Imagine what our lungs look like! We are problem solving on keeping the dust down. When it is cold outside, we tend to keep the doors and windows closed, cutting down on the air exchange. We need to work on that.

We discussed compassion and wondered how you get it. Is it cultivated by things we do or rained on us?
What about Jesus. He had no money or income and yet he was compassionate to lots. It helps if you have supernatural powers. Since we are not "supers" and have not figured out how to get God to perform miracles when we want, what are we supposed to do?
If Jesus was compassionate, why didn't he pull a Bruce Almightly and fix all suffering? Apparently it doesn't work that way.
Some were wondering if the miracles were less about compassion and more about validating the message, which was his priority. I tried to address this in the previous post. Maybe it is both/and rather than either/or. I think the text in many passages seem pretty direct that he felt compassion and then did the miracle. Jesus said that the Father is compassionate. It makes sense that his son would be. He fixed suffering because he was compassionate. He was man, so he dealt with what came across his path as he was intentional about his work. Sure he had other interests, but he was also compassionate.
Ready for assembly and spraying. Then we have to find some mattresses and linen. I think we are out of money. Time to put our money and faith where our mouthes (hearts?) are.
