Is It Worth the Effort and Money?

We are building beds for a family of 8. Five of the kids sleep in this room. Notice there are only 3 mattresses and there is no linen, only the blankets we gave them. In a few weeks, there will be five beds with new mattresses and linen. Yes, we measured the room and they will all fit.

For many hours of work and about $1500 in wood and bedding what will the kids get?

They will each get their own bed that is up off the floor. They will have a comfortable, non-smelly mattress to sleep on. They will have clean linen to climb into each night. They will have a comfortable pillow to lay their heads on. They will have enough blankets to keep them warm through the winter. They will have an increased sense of dignity, stability, and security. Their house will become more of a home. They will have the knowledge that God cares about them enough to move in the hearts of a group of people to do this for them. They will have the knowledge that God is a good. They will have this night, after night, after night for the rest of their time at home in this family.

All this because God is good and a group of people stepped out and responded to the heart call of God to correct an injustice.

Our Savior said,"Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head." In His Name, you are providing places for needy families to lay their heads. Thank you. Thank you for working on His behalf and on the behalf of His Church. May your tribe increase!

I agree with you more and more as I read. You are right. When Jesus came, He came as a radical. We should follow His example. Radically learning to love and living to love.

So yes it is worth it, the effort and the money.
