Kerr Grant Update

Grace found their 501c(3) letter and, perhaps most importantly, the Kerr Foundation accepted the faxed letter, even though the application deadline had passed. That would never have happened with the federal government. His will was that the application would go through! Now on to the next step. Hopefully, the executive committee will like what we are doing and decide to support us. Giving beds to poor kids and getting people involved in helping the poor is a no-brainer. From a practice standpoint, it is relatively safe and easy. Other acts of exceptional love and mercy that God is calling us to may not be so, like loving the unlovable or loving our ememies. But it is a great place to start. If we can't experience compassion in the safe and easy situations, we have little chance in the the harder and more dangerous situations. All this has to do with practice. Is the idea of practice and cultivating compassion biblical?
