This is Tammy and four of her 5 kids (16 year old boy not shown). The two seated to her right are her sisters kids who she adopted (rescued) from her drug-addicted sister. She is a single mother who is on no public assistance and has a stable work history. She recently purchased a mobile home that is in fairly poor shape, but she is fixing it up as she can afford it. She says she has enough to provide for their basic needs, but not enough for anything extra. They have three matteress on the floor that the five kids sleep on (no beds).
She found out from one of her other sisters (Crystal; not the drug addict one) that we built beds. We had provided a bed to Crystal, as well as some other furniture. Knowing that her sister needed beds for her children, Crystal pleaded with us to call Tammy. We did. We visited her (took out a dinnette set that was donated to us) and the kids.
Why should we give a snap about her?
