You found my site my friends? (You better leave a comment. That is how you get initiated into this club.)
I had dinner tonight with my co-workers. It was an interesting mix of people. I think that I could have been really good friends with some of them if we had met in some other context. I have been working at the same place for almost 20 years. It is funny how much and how little we know about each other. Do people really change? Or are we like the seasons, always changing and always the same?
One labeled the act of blogging as narcisistic. I agree. Do I blog as my daughter says, because I like to read what I write? Perhaps I will blog about that some other time. Or not.
I had one brief, real encounter tonight. The dinner was not unlike many others with a good bit of chit-chat. The waitress came and went, taking care of our business. Noticing her, I asked how she was doing. She paused, looked me in the eye, and told me that she was a little off tonight. We connected briefly. It was worth the price of the meal. We were both in the moment.
Life is unfolding around us. We can live it distracted, or we can notice it and take it in. This is Principle # 11 in the book I am writing, Porn is Bad, on how to live life in the zone. It is basically the "be here now" approach. Principle # 7 is to floss daily and scrap your tongue. You will have to buy the book if you want to know the others.
